Times are in UTC¶
Almost everywhere, PinkTower shows times in your own local time. A few settings are different: PinkTower reads them as UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), the world's reference time, not your local time.
Nigeria and the rest of West Africa use West Africa Time (WAT), which is one hour ahead of UTC all year round. There is no summer time change. So to turn a Lagos time into UTC, subtract one hour.
Which times are UTC¶
| Time | Where | Who sets it |
|---|---|---|
| School closing time | Pickup → Closing time. Children still at school after it are reported as not collected. | Administrator |
| Bus run times: Afternoon run opens (UTC), Morning run should have started by (UTC) and Afternoon run should have started by (UTC) | Transport, under Run times | Administrator |
| The end of a pickup code's day | A code sent to someone collecting your child lasts until the end of the day in UTC, which is 01:00 the next morning in Lagos. | Set automatically |
See Closing time and late pickups, Set up the school bus and Send someone else to collect.

Example
Your school closes at 16:00 in Lagos. Enter 15:00 as the school closing time.
If your school is outside West Africa, work out how far your local time is from UTC and adjust in the same way. Remember that some countries change their clocks in summer, which changes the difference.
