Getting started¶
Everything you need before your first day with PinkTower: getting into your account, finding your way around, and keeping your account safe.
How PinkTower is organised¶
Each school or childcare centre has its own private space in PinkTower. Nothing is ever shared between schools: a school's students, staff, families and records are seen only by people at that school.
Your school has its own short name in the web address, taken from the school's name. A school
called "Sunshine Nursery" might live at an address ending in /sunshine-nursery/. You do not
need to remember it: sign in and PinkTower takes you to your school.
One login can belong to more than one school. A parent with children at two PinkTower schools, or a teacher who also has a child at another school, signs in once with the same email and password. See Belong to more than one school.
Who does what¶
Everyone has one role at each school. Your role decides what you see in the menu and what you can do.
| Role | What they do |
|---|---|
| Administrator | Runs the school in PinkTower: staff, classes, students and guardians, fees, documents, the school bus, messages and the calendar. |
| Teacher | Works with their own class: attendance, pickups, messages, stories, photos and class supplies. |
| Nurse | Messages parents about health matters and reads children's medical documents. Not assigned to a class. |
| Bus driver | Crews a school bus and marks children on and off it. Works with one bus, not with classes. |
| Bus conductor | Crews the bus alongside the driver, with exactly the same access. |
| Parent | Sees their own children: their day, pickups, fees, photos, messages and paperwork. |
The full list of what each role can do is in Roles and permissions.
