Broadcasts

Who can do this: Administrator Parent

A broadcast is one message from the school office to a whole group at once: all parents, all staff, or everyone. Only administrators send broadcasts. Parents can reply, and their reply is private.

Send a broadcast

Who can do this: Administrator

  1. Open Messages in the sidebar. The Broadcasts tab opens first.
  2. Press Send broadcast.
  3. Choose the Audience:
    • All parents
    • All staff: every teacher.
    • Everyone: all parents and all teachers.
  4. Enter a Subject.
  5. Write the Message.
  6. Press Send broadcast.

Everyone in the audience gets a notification straight away. Your sent broadcasts are listed on the Broadcasts tab, newest first, each labelled with its audience.

Teachers receive broadcasts as notifications only

Teachers do not have a Broadcasts tab. A broadcast to All staff or Everyone reaches them through the notification bell.

Nurses and bus crew are not part of All staff or Everyone and do not receive broadcasts. Other administrators are not notified either, but they see every broadcast on their own Broadcasts tab.

Read and reply to a broadcast

Who can do this: Parent

The Broadcasts tab lists every broadcast sent to All parents or Everyone.

To reply:

  1. On the broadcast, press Reply privately.
  2. Write your reply.
  3. Press Send reply.

Your reply goes only to the administrator who sent the broadcast. No other parent sees it. It starts a private conversation between the two of you, which carries on in the Messages tab.

When a parent replies to your broadcast, the reply arrives as a new private conversation in your Messages tab. Answer it there as you would any message.

After you press Send reply, the broadcast says the reply was sent. To follow up, open the Messages tab, where the conversation now appears.
