Fees and payments¶
Billing in the sidebar is where school fees live: what each family owes, what they have paid, and how parents pay online. Administrators set the fees and see every payment. Parents see their own children's fees and pay them.
Billing is about the money families pay your school. What your school pays PinkTower is a separate page, Subscription; see Your PinkTower subscription.
How billing works¶
You never add fees to a child by hand. You set them up once, and PinkTower charges each child automatically.
Fees are set per grade. A fee amount says what children in one grade pay for one fee type, such as tuition or meals. Every class in that grade pays the same, unless you set a charge for one class only.
Fees recur every billing cycle, until you change them:
| Grade | Billing cycle |
|---|---|
| Preschool and Infant and Toddler | Every month. These grades run all year and have no terms. |
| Every other grade | Every term, using the terms you set up. |
A grade with terms is billed nothing between terms. Billing picks up again when the next term starts.
Children are charged automatically:
- when they are enrolled in a class, for the month or term already under way; and
- at the start of every new month or term after that.
Nobody is ever charged twice for the same fee in the same cycle. When you set a new fee amount, children already enrolled in that grade are charged for the current cycle straight away.
Children who join part-way through pay less tuition. Tuition is reduced to the days left in the month or term, counting the day they start. Every other kind of fee, such as registration, transport or meals, is charged in full whenever a child joins.
A price change takes effect from the next cycle. A fee never changes part-way through a month or a term, so a new price does not affect charges already made. The very first price you set for a fee applies straight away.
Each fee has a due day. After that day, an unpaid fee is overdue and the parent is reminded. A part-paid fee can still go overdue if the rest is not paid.
Only fees in naira can be paid online. Fees can be set in naira, US dollars, British pounds or euros, but parents can only pay naira fees in the app.
Where the money goes¶
Parents pay online by card or bank transfer, and the money goes straight to your school's bank account. PinkTower never holds your school's money and takes no commission on it. Parents pay a processing charge on top of each fee, which covers the payment provider's fee, so your school receives the full fee. The charge is shown to the parent before they pay and is not refundable.
Parents cannot pay online until you connect your bank account. See Connect your bank account.
