Find your way around¶
Who can do this: Administrator Teacher Nurse Bus crew Parent
PinkTower shows each person only the pages their role uses. This page explains the menu, the account menu, your dashboard and the welcome tour.
The menu¶
On a computer, the menu runs down the left-hand side of the screen. On a phone, the pages you open most often sit in a bar along the bottom of the screen, and the menu button (three lines, top right) opens the full list.
Sidebar: Overview · Classes · Students · Promotion · Transport · Attendance · Pickup · Messages · Calendar · Gallery · Supplies · Documents · Billing · Subscription · Staff · Staff attendance
Bottom bar on a phone: Overview · Classes · Students · Promotion · Transport

Staff attendance is never in the bottom bar. On a phone, find it in the full menu, or use I'm away or running late on the nurse and bus crew dashboards.
Along the top and in the corner¶
- The bell shows how many notifications you have not read. Open it to see recent notifications, press one to go to the right page, or press Mark all read. See Notifications.
- Report a problem sends a note to the PinkTower team. On a computer it is at the bottom of the sidebar; on a phone it is in the account menu. See Report a problem.
- Banners across the top of the page tell you when something affects the whole school, such as an unpaid PinkTower subscription, or when a parent's access has become read-only.
The account menu¶
On a computer, press your name at the bottom of the sidebar. On a phone, press your picture or initials at the top right. The menu holds:
- My Account: your photo, details, address, notifications and security. See Your account and security.
- Switch school: only if you belong to more than one school. See Belong to more than one school.
- Take a tour: replays the welcome tour.
- Help & guides: opens these guides in a new tab.
- Report a problem (on a phone).
- Sign out.
The small number at the bottom of the menu is the PinkTower version. The support team may ask you for it.
Your dashboard¶
Overview is the first page you see after signing in. What it shows depends on your role:
How many students are present today and how many are on a bus, a weekly attendance chart, upcoming events, staff attendance, school fees, the latest employee reviews and class supplies running low. + Add student takes you to Students.
Your class: who is present, who is on a bus, upcoming events and your class supplies.
Who is on the register today, your unread messages and recent conversations, and upcoming events. I'm away or running late reports your own absence.
Your bus: how many children are on it, how many ride today and which run you are on. I'm away or running late reports your own absence. If you see No bus assigned to you yet, ask your administrator to add you to a bus.
Each child's day so far (attendance, the bus if they ride it, and pickup), any balance due, unread messages and the next event.
The welcome tour¶
The first time you sign in, after you have added your contact details, a short tour introduces the main pages for your role: 8 steps for an administrator, 6 for a teacher and 6 for a parent. It sits in a corner of the screen, so you can keep using the page underneath.
- Press Next and Back to move through it. The last step says Done.
- Press Skip tour to close it.
- Use the minimise button to shrink it out of the way, and press it again to bring it back.
- Some steps have a button, such as Go to Classes, that takes you straight to that page.
For an administrator, two steps do more than explain:
- Which grades does your centre run? is a real setting. The grades you tick are saved straight away, and only those grades appear when you create a class, enrol a child or set a fee. You can change them later in My Account.
- Add your bank account has an Add bank account button. Parents cannot pay fees online until you connect the account your fees are paid into. See Connect your bank account.
The tour appears once per account, not once per device. To see it again, choose Take a tour from the account menu.
Note
Nurses and bus crew have no tour, so Take a tour does nothing for them.
